Second Party

I forgot to link to pictures from the SECOND party. There was lots of drinking involved (as usual), it's amazing considering it was morning. I took it easy this time. Enjoy the pictures.

Back to Work

I got home at 11:30 in the morning after the party! I turned my phone off and managed to get a relatively restful sleep until about 7pm. I think I can make it to work.

My moving plans have changed somewhat. The friend that I was going to share with backed out, so now I'm looking for a place on my own or to share with someone else for May 1. I would still love to live downtown, but with the expensive rentals there I doubt I can find something. If so, I wouldn't mind living as close to work as possible. If anybody here knows of any rental properties available, let me know.

Million Dollar Baby

I finally saw Million Dollar Baby tonight. Wow, what a movie. Even though I knew the ending, it was just as powerful as if I hadn't. Hilary Swank sure knows how to pick a good role. Too bad for Sandra Bullock and Ashley Judd, who were originally chosen to play the role of Maggie.

OK, time for some rest before more partying at 4am. I'm sure I won't be feeling well at work tomorrow.

Recovery

Well I drank and partied from about 7:30pm-2am. I didn't go as crazy as before, mainly because there is another party tonight after work (4am-11am!!). I have to pace myself. Everybody had a good time and as usual some of the people were a little too drunk (that's what makes it fun!). Pictures can be found at the link below...

In other news, I'm looking for an apartment to share downtown with a chess friend of mine. It's time I moved back downtown; I miss all the fun there. Then I'll get a car. And hopefully after that the girlfriend and wife will be soon after....

Getting Drunk

Two days off, two nights of parties for one of our maangers who is transferring to Richmond and eventually Coquitlam. Party #1: Thursday Night 7pm-2am; Party #2: Friday Night (Saturday Morning) 4am-11am. It will be interesting to see how I look (and feel) when I have to go back to work Saturday night.

Let the inebriation begin!

Nap Time NOW?

Not much too update except that Just got up from a 2-hour nap!???! Now I'm wide awake. But that's actually OK for my sleep cycle at least. I'll stay up for a few hours before getting back to bed.

Strange trivia: My TV has been off for a while week!??! I've either been sleeping or on the computer. Quite peaceful here if you ask me.

I bought a novel to read today, haven't done that in a while. The book is called "Improbable" and it's about...what else... a compulsive gambler. It's been a pretty good read so far.

What to Do?

Happy St. Patrick's Day...it's Lily's birthday as well. I have to plan something for tonight...what to do, what to do...

BITCH Part 2

It looks like I get a dealing shift at the Holiday Inn tonight. I don't know about Tuesday and Wednesday (last week I was sent to Richmond for those wonderful roulette shifts). I must admit things are great at work now, although a couple of the dealers piss me off now and then. Believe it or not, one of them is Jolene. She's turned into a lazy dealer with attitude. She has the nerve to question me when I say one of her payouts is wrong. Granted, every once in a while I do a calculation incorrectly, but that's as rare as seeing Bobby Fischer in the United States. I considered writing her up last night.

Meanwhile I've been playing on Empire Poker for the last two hours, just getting nothing. I'm down about $20 just passing the time until I have to get ready for work.

More Poker Playing!

Currently I'm up about $100US since returning to the online poker world...a little at a time. The suckers are still there on the smaller limits, all it takes is a little patience. Hey, if I can make $50/day that's an extra $1500/month! Or perhaps I may even set a higher goal.

Meanwhile, I had dinner with Lily because her husband was away on a business trip... and we went back to her place... to watch a movie. We rented The Terminal with Tom Hanks and ultra-babe Catherine Zeta-Jones. It wasn't bad. Then we played hold'em (for fun) for a few hours and I just got home...back to the real money hold'em.

Poker Playing!

After dinner with Albert, I got home with nothing to do, so I decided to get back to playing some online poker. I bought in for $80US and although it took me about 4 hours, I turned it into $140US. Every little bit counts. If anybody is interested, go to the link below. You will receive a 20% bonus on your first buy-in and I'll get a little bonus myself for referring you. Ben?

Time for bed...

Roulette Dealing!

Wow, what a great two days before my two days off. I was sent to Richmond on Tuesday and Wednesday, both to deal roulette. I had so much fun; it was so busy the time just flew by. I miss dealing busy games and working like a dog. I am so tired now my whole body is aching. That was because I've only had a TOTAL of 8 hours of sleep in two days. I was supposed to work graveyards at the Holiday Inn but instead got called into afternoon shifts in Richmond. As a result, my biological clock or whatever it's called is out of whack. I hope to get a great night's sleep tonight before lunch time with what's her name.

I'm Not Drunk

Tonight there was a dinner for Rommel, one of the shift managers at the casino who was transferring to Richmond (and eventually Coquitlam). The dinner was at 8pm and I had a shift at work at 11:15pm. Well, it's a dinner and of course at a dinner you have to have a few drinks. As much as I'd love to have gotten disgustingly drunk, I had to work and of course it wouldn't look too good if I went to the casino totally hammered. So I'd decided to have a half-glass of wine and once about 9:30 rolled around I'd stop drinking. Things were going great until around 9:15 when I realized that somebody filled up my damn wine glass. And since it's rude not to drink all the wine in one's glass, I took a chance and drank it all...before 9:30. Now the fun began....my face was quite red (it's a Chinese thing, my face gets VERY red after just a few drinks even if I am absolutely conscious and sober). Unfortunately I'd probably get in shit if I went to work with a red face. So for the next hour or so, in between some yummy Chinese dishes, I drank tea, and more tea, and more tea, then went to pee, came back and drank more tea. Somehow I managed to get to work with a decent-colored face (there was the headache but I could handle that). My head still hurts a little bit but at least I didn't get into trouble.

There will be another farewell thing in two weeks, this one is after work so I will get a chance to get terribly drunk. Somebody started a rumor that I would be dancing on the tables again......

Be Cool

I went for a matinee movie with Suzanne; we went to see Be Cool, starring John Travolta and Uma Thurman (among others). It was hilarious! There were a lot of corny moments, like Travolta and Thurman dancing with each other a la Pulp Fiction. The Rock was funny as well, playing an ambiguously gay bodyguard.

Now it's time to relax before going back to work tomorrow.

Stress

It was pretty stressful at work today. It's not that anything major happened, but I just had this funny feeling something would. It was remarkably busy for a Wednesday night and there was one guy playing rather suspiciously. It also didn't help that the dealer was new and was sometimes lost. That's nice, the guy is playing $1000, PLEASE be careful. Luckily nothing happened.

It's time for hopefully another two wonderful days off. Even if I do absolutely nothing, it's a welcome relief from all the mayhem that sometimes occur at work. I get to watch The APprentice and then who knows...maybe try my luck at Edgewater...
